St Francis of Assisi
Feast Day October 4

Francis' way of prayer was to find God in the simple things in the world God had created.  By putting his focus on Christ, he was led to imitate Christ and show the compassion of Jesus Christ to those he met. In the Marian Mantle Group we pray to have that same compassion for others--even our prodigals who cause our heartache.  We strive to love them with an unconditional love--that only Grace can give to us--while we pray and wait for their return to the practice of the Catholic Faith.

Saint Francis’ Prayer Before the Crucifix

Most High, glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my heart and give me true faith, certain hope, and perfect charity, sense and knowledge, Lord, that I may carry out Your holy and true command. Amen. generosity.   Amen.

SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI Biography from the EWTN web site.

The Peace Prayer of St. Francis
by an anonymous Norman c. 1915 A.D.

Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred,
Let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, truth;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, Joy.

O Divine Master grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled
As to console;
To be understood,as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
