St. Frances Xavier Cabrini

Feast Day November 13

Patron of  Hospital Administrators, and Impossible Causes

Mother Cabrini was known for her perseverance in prayer and in the work she was doing. Today's Catholic hospitals and schools are a result of that perseverance.  She is a saint made to order for those of us who pray for the return of loved ones to the Church--especially those who pray for the children of prodigals that their parents might one day give them the benefit of instruction in the Catholic Faith. Here is another in that great group of saints who are patrons of difficult and impossible situations and witness to the truth of Gabriel's words, "Nothing is impossible for God."

Who Was St. Frances Cabrini?

Mother Cabrini is the first United States citizen to be canonized.  At the direction of Pope Leo XIII she worked with immigrants in New York City, during the late 1800s and early 1900s.  She founded hospitals and other institutions to care for those in need.  Her dedication to Catholic education for children and adults kept the faith alive for many in her time and that legacy continues to do so for many hearts today.

Mother Cabrini's Prayer
For Peace of Mind

Fortify me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit and give Your peace to my soul that I may be free from all needless anxiety, solicitude and worry. Help me to desire always that which is pleasing and acceptable to You so that Your will may be my will.

 Comments on St. Frances Cabrini
by Pope Pius XII

“Although her constitution was very frail, her spirit was endowed with such singular strength that, knowing the will of God in her regard, she permitted nothing to impede her from accomplishing what seemed beyond the strength of a woman.”
