The Sixth Sorrow of Our Lady - Mary receives the body of Jesus

Scripture Reading:  Psalm 130~ DRV   1 Lord, my heart is not exalted: nor are my eyes lofty. Neither have I walked in great matters, nor in wonderful things above me. 2 If I was not humbly minded, but exalted my soul: As a child that is weaned is towards his mother, so reward in my soul. 3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from henceforth now and for ever.

Meditation:  Sorrowful Mother, after the men took Him down from the cross, they placed the lifeless body of your Son into your loving arms.  No doubt, your tears fell upon His beautiful face as You pulled Him close.  Mary, you understand my anguish as I witness my loved one no longer living in the Catholic Church, no longer receiving the life-giving grace of the Sacraments, no longer knowing the fullness of life found in the Eucharist.  Just as you never lost hope in the goodness of God, help me to stand fast and hope in the Lord. May the time come quickly when I can say with joy, "The one for whom I have prayed has come home."  In Jesus Name, I pray.  Amen.

Prayer:  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.  Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
